Meet the Founder
“…Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It’s the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts.”
James 3:13-16 (MSG)
Born into a family of five, I was an Army brat that moved every three years until my junior year of high school. The excitement and adventure of every new city gave me a love for adventure and helped foster my social personality. Not long after my father retired, we moved to a Pittsburgh suburb where I met my future husband, Tom. Thirteen years full of travel, trials, and teamwork–and the adoption of an opinionated cat–later, Tom and I were overjoyed to welcome our sons Lucas and Ethan to our family.
I now reside in the greater Washington, D.C. metro, right in the corner where Virginia meets Maryland and Maryland meets West Virginia. A typical day involves playing with my kids, working on the latest design, comms, or digital media project, and serving in my church community. One of the greatest priorities in my life is being present where you are. Life is not about chasing, striving, and one-upping…it is about serving, being still, and finding joy in the smallest blessings.
My career path started in high school, where I met Tom in a computer programming class. (Talk about nerds, right?) Learning how to code opened a new way of thinking for me, which led to an interest in web design and development. This passion dovetailed with an interest in art and marketing, and I ultimately pursued a degree in graphic design.
In my role as a designer, I have worked with the sales team of a nationwide vinyl distributor, a regional chain of 24-hour gyms, a website design and management vendor, an award-winning communications firm, a veterinary and animal boarding facility, a nationwide student association, local churches, a biotechnical engineering firm, a wildlife preserve, and the nation’s largest nonprofit serving prisoners, former prisoners, and their families. I have worked in a marketing/comms team of twenty-plus, and worked with a company whose entire business ran on the hard work of four individuals. I’ve found myself happiest working in the non-profit and association sector, and I am passionate about helping churches succeed.
I’m so glad you’ve taken the time to get to know me, and welcome to WellVersed! It is my sincere hope that we can work together to help build a successful communication plan for your business! Contact me at ashley@versedco.com.
